It’s not what you think. It’s who you know.
Been reading these “I Spy” books lately with the boys. It dawned on me how you look at the same thing over and over and do not notice something. Either in people. Especially, the Word. In life and everything. You look and look and then BAM! you see it.
Romans 16:25, “The revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began…”
1 John 1:10, “10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word (truth, life, hope, peace, love, power, faith) is not in us.”
The word ‘liar’ means,
Liar (5583) (pseustes from pseudomai = to lie) is one who speaks falsehood, untruth, and so attempts to deceive. Thayer adds that pseustes describes “one who breaks faith, a false or faithless man.“
Christ is not ‘one who breaks faith, false, or a faithless man.’ He remains the faithful High Priest. 2 Tim. 2:13, “If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”
Self-imposed law hinders revelation. Revelation obliterates self-imposed law.
If I say I am not a sinner or transgressor PRE-salvation then I am saying Christ’s death was not real or enough. If I am not putting my faith in Him or His faith in me. My understanding then derives from the flesh, intellectualism, education, philosophy and/or anything other than the truth that is in Jesus, Eph. 4:21. This is self-justification based on self-imposed law in my heart. Only Christ’s blood can purge my conscience from dead works based on this self-imposed law.
Eph. 2:4-7, “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness1 toward us in Christ Jesus.”
The word “kindness” means the following,
Kindness (5544) (chrestotes from adjective chrestos = useful, profitable in turn from chraomai = to furnish what is needed in turn from chráo = lend, furnish as a loan) is a gracious attitude, and thus describes the quality of being helpful and beneficial, furnishing that which is needed.
The part that catches my attention in the above definition is “to furnish what is needed” or to provide what is in lack. The word “exceeding” means overabundant, overflowing, superfluous, etc. “Riches” could also mean abundance or plenitude.
Guess a paraphrase of verse 7 could also read,
“That in the ages to come (after the book of Acts) He (the Father through Christ) will show (because His will is not arbitrary) the overabundant, overflowing, superfluous abundance and plenitude of His nature through His beloved Son to fill us in every way imaginable or unimaginable.”
I say ‘unimaginable’ because the revelation Christ goes beyond our little brains and PhD’s. I mean come on He created the universe and is bigger than that, but even bigger than that, and that, and so on. The five-fold ministry of God will display His manifold wisdom and impart grace and His nature to whosoever that believes on His only Son. This impartation will only continue to grow and never stop growing because of God’s nature and His fullness. His fullness will be manifested in the Church universally by revelation through holy apostles and prophets who are set apart by His will and grace.
I believe verse 7 is saying there is an exponential, overflowing wave of revelation upon revelation that is and WILL manifest and grow in the Church. This is the beginnings of Ephesians 4, the five-fold ministry in His Body. His Body will grow. His church will grow more into His fullness into the Church. The rest is history.
I thought I’d jot down the times I perceived the Lord or the Holy Spirit communicate to me. I have perceived the Father, but more Him emoting and being.
Essence of fear: In cafeteria this morning, 10/22/09, getting coffee. I noticed a woman next to me. I sensed her fear. The thought came to mind, “Self-imposed law creates fear.”
His perfect will does not possess fear: Played foosball today, 07/22/2009. I was a little concerned about being skunked. Then this thought came to mind, “You can’t will to win with fear.”
Achoo!….God bless you: “I noticed that someone was actually stopping in the middle of traffic to let someone in from the parking lot. I asked the Lord or myself, ‘Why do people impeded traffic for the sake of being ‘nice’?’ This was the thought that came to mind, “It makes them feel good inside. They get a warm fuzzy feeling.”
Patience: non-anxious thoughts: “In the Aramaic New Testament, it says patience means, “the thought of not being anxious.” You can read this and it could be just plain ol’ head knowledge, but I’ve been chewing and meditating on this in my spirit. Today, I heard it again inside at the stop light. This thought came to mind, “I cannot be anxious or have anxious thoughts if I have fullness.” What does that mean? In His presence, there is ALL FULLNESS.”
I don’t believe. I know.: “Then one day I thought about my mother in heaven and this thought came to mind, “She is not dead, but alive!” Didn’t Jesus say this in Matt. 22:31-33, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Lupe: “Later, the thought came to mind, perhaps Einstein said that we only use 8-10% of our brains. I thought some animals brains are like 8-10% the size of a human brain which lead me to the next thought. Did Adam communicate with the animals in a different way Prior to the Fall than we do now?”
Days of Noah: “On 02/19/09, this thought came to mind. Now, we are under grace not law. The “days of Noah” was ‘before the law’. In the ‘days of Noah’ they were not under the law the either. Moses had not yet even been born.”
Half-hearted: “This thought came to mind, “I put law on myself in the master bathroom.” I was reminded of Christ saying in Matt. 7:1, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”
Glory of nature: “I could see the reflection of the sun on the trees. I could see the leaves and branches wave in the wind. I perceived the Spirit of the Lord say to me, “That is the glory of the tree.”
My youngest son accepted Christ in his heart: “I perceived the anointing. And then I realized I could hear the Spirit of the Lord ‘knocking’ on my younger son’s heart.”
Is that obedience?: “As I said, I finished shooting the ball and I perceived the Lord ask me, “Are you going to put the ball back on the ball rack?” I responded yes inside, but really just wanted to leave the ball there. I took the ball and put it on the ball rack. Then the Lord ask me another question that blew me away, “Was that obedience?”
You are holy: “On 05/27/09, Saturday morning, I was brushing my teeth and I perceived the Lord speaking these words to me in my spirit, “You ARE holy.”
Do you really want to?: “Today I heard the Lord tell me, “You don’t have to love people.” I said, “Excuse me, huh?” “You don’t have to love people.” This is true. I don’t. If I have to then is that real and bona fide motive from my heart?”
Daughter of mercy: “When this little girl looked at me I perceived the Lord tell me, “This is mercy.” The Hebrew word for mercy means “to delicately teach or bring up.”
Good report: ” I heard a small voice in me saying, “Go to the gym.”
Plastic forks and spoons: “I heard, “Go down stairs and put back the utensils.” My reply was, “Are you serious?” I heard it again three times. I walked away and this thought came to mind,“MY WILLINGNESS MAKES YOU RIGHTEOUS.” It echoed and I reiterated it to myself over and over.
Old is gone. Total detachment.: “I remember a while back the Lord told me, ” I give you the willingness, but you make the choice.”
He dwells in reality and truth: “Today, 10/16/09, the Lord told me, “I dwell in reality and sincerity.
“You are a priest”: “Afterwords, the Lord told me, “You are a priest.”
Torturer: “Now, that I am be honest with myself I think the Lord told me this morning, “Forgiveness comes through you.”
Residence: “Prior to Saturday night, 01/17/09, I noticed something different in my walk. I asked the Lord that night, “What happened?” I felt He told me, “I do not dwell in unforgiveness.”
“Now separate to Me”: “I need to realize the Lord does not say things just say them. I thought I realized that when He recently told me, “I am separating you. You are a different person. You are not who you were anymore.”
Hello, my name is ________ .: “One night, I was lying down about to go to sleep and the Lord told me, “You have always been who you are.
To eat or not to eat the apple?: “Then the Lord told me, “My Forgiveness is bigger than your unforgiveness towards yourself.”
Ten minutes: “I am walking to my apartment and the thought pops in my brain, “Remember, you said 10 minutes.”
Eph. 1:17-19, “17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[c] being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”
“Enlightened” here is passive voice. Examples: I feel the rays of the sun on my skin. When the light turned in the dark room the room was illuminated.
“Enlightened” is also in perfect tense. It describes an action which is viewed as having been completed in the past, once and for all, not needing to be repeated.
Darkness cannot comprehend light. Once light is it stays. Once the eyes (or faculty of receiving) of my heart are open or enlightened by light and truth this light can no longer be comprehended by darkness.
This is true and absolute redemption according to the purpose and will of the Father which He purposed in His beloved Son.
Psalms 107:2, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say [so], whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”
1 Cor. 1:7, “So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation (in you) of our Lord Jesus Christ:”
Paraphrase: …Assiduously and patiently waiting for the revelation of Christ in you.
Another example of the Epiphany blog.
This verse talks about His coming. 1 Cor. 1:8, “Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
On 12/30/08, I went with Ben to the park. I had a peculiar awareness of the sun shining above my head. It was almost as if the sun and the sky were a painted mural behind me. It was as if they were not real. Later, I believe what I saw was the corruptibility of these elements similar to what Paul speaks of in 1 Cor. 15:53.
I wrote this above comment almost seven months ago. This thought dawned on me, no pun intended. I believe this is what I saw.
Genesis 1:14-16,
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
Prior to verse 14 light existed because He said in verse 3, “Let there be light.” He did not say, “Let there be light created by the sun.” That occurred 11 verses later. I believe the effulgence of His glory was the light, Rev. 21:23, 22:5; 1 John 1:5, prior to the radiance and photons emitted from the sun.
Prior to this, I recall having an awareness of this creation not be what I call real, but the unseen being the reality. Paul saw this as well. His words are more fitting. Read 2 Cor. 4:18, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.” So, the revealing truth was the sun and everything I saw would only exist for a season or a certain duration.
Scientists say the sun is about 4.5 billion years old and in about another 5 billion years it will die. What 9,500,000,000/∞ = ? James says this life is but a vapor, James 4:14.
Had a dream last night, 10/15/08. My friend was speaking to me about a spirit of gentleness and meekness. As he did I received revelation in my spirit in the dream! This is for the church. I believe it was not my friend, but the Spirit of the Lord speaking through my friend to my mind, heart and spirit His will. The knowledge of Christ permeates into every aspect of our life and being which includes dreams.
1 Cor. 15:8 (DBY) Paul says in regard to the resurrected Christ being witnessed by others and then him, “and last of all, as to an abortion or premature birth, he appeared to me also.”
What does this mean? At work I was responding to someone and used the word ‘premature.’ The above scripture quickened in me.
* First of all, I would like to make a clarification for reference. I support life and having children. I support adoption. I support birth con
trol and contraceptives. I do not support abortion. I believe it is murder by choice.
The word premature can also means mature or ripe before its time. It also means, “Occurring, growing, or existing before the customary, correct, or assigned time; uncommonly or unexpectedly early.”
When I think of a premature birth or an aborted child the idea I get is the environment in which the child is born into supposes it is not ready for its birth. If this were true I should not have been born or anyone else. No one is a mistake. We are all created in His image. We all have a free-will at birth to choose. We are all born into iniquity and sin. I believe the man and woman who chose to become pregnant are the accountable party making the mistake as well as creating the situation. How can you blame someone who is not yet even born and sentence them to death? That has already been done. Christ has fulfilled that, Rev. 13:8. Why should anyone else have to be sentenced to die? That is not justice, but murder. If an innocent by-standard in a bank is left for dead after a bank robbery is that not murder? Neither that person or the unborn child had a choice to die. Abortions are not accidents. Genuine accidents may result in aborted births. These are not the same. So, if I have an ‘accident’ then abortion is moral? A genuine accident is a situation the mother is totally unaware of. It was not pre-meditated. What about rape or incest? What if that child is the next President, Billy Graham, or you? What about adoption?
The Father sent His Son into this world to die for us while we were yet still in our sin! Therefore, we can by grace, power, and love in us, give birth to these children and remove the curse they were born into. Jesus became a curse for us! Jesus gives salvation. These children deserve salvation.
That was an unplanned, but necessary and good tangent.
Back to Paul being born untimely. I am of the opinion the world was not ready for his birth and possibly some of the church. Peter, growing in grace and knowledge of Christ, 2 Pet. 3:18, still struggled with justfication by works or grace. Paul had to correct Peter, apostle to the Jews, in front of everyone there, Galatians 2:14. And Peter walked with Jesus! The world is not ready for apostles and prophets. They are viewed as the refuse and aborted children of the world. This is what Paul said. I did not make this up. On the contrary, the Church is ready!
I believe the apostle or prophet are similar to pioneers or trail blazers. What if someone came from the future to show you what your race would evolve into? I believe this was and is Christ Jesus, the Last Adam and our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Now, this same Christ dwells and makes His home in us by grace and revelation according to His beautiful word! The future is being created in us from faith to faith and glory to glory. That is why I believe Paul felt he was born prematurely.
If I am under the law it will be difficult for me to receive revelation. The Word will likely be diluted and not very effective.
Gal. 3:23 says, “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.”
2 Cor. 3:6 says, “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
If I am under law then death is not far off. The law will enable sin to slay me and kill me, Rom. 7:11. It will judge and condemn me. If I am not saved this is the case. If I am saved then I am not under condemnation ever, Rom. 8:1. The old, judged, guilty man is dead. The penalty of the law was fulfilled when I died with Jesus on the cross, Gal. 2:20, Rom. 6:5, Col. 3:3. In Christ and His death, I am no longer judged by the Mosaic Law or even any self-imposed law in my heart! Rom. 2:14-15
Gal. 3:23 says “shut up”. This means enclosed on all sides. Gal. 3:23 also speaks of revelation unveiled or ‘faith revealed’. How?
Gal. 1:16 talks about God’s Son being revealed inside of us. This unveiling reveals the “Way, Truth, Life, Righteousness, Wisdom, Peace and Power” in us in Christ.
If I walk in another gospel’s doctrine, Gal. 1:6-7, this could also potentially hinder revelation from manifesting itself inside me.
If law, self-imposed law or another gospel’s doctrine other than the Gospel of grace is ministered to me and I receive it as sound doctrine or gospel then I am deceived. In Rom. 7:11 is says, “Sin deceived me using the basis of the commandment (law) as an attack…” In the Aramaic, the word deceived is mentioned as ‘putting a hood over one’s head.’
Under the Old Covenant, the Israelites were not allowed to enter the Holy of Holies where the Lord’s presence would manifest in Shekinah glory. Only the High Priest was able to do so once a year in accordance with Mosaic Law, Lev. 16.
This is my point. Under the Old Covenant, everyone was separated from God. In this separation, we were closed off on all sides from His life and revelation of Him.
Now, by hearing first, then hearing the Word of God, faith is unveiled by grace through the Holy Spirit of Truth. This faith creates the essence, substance and nature of righteousness in me apart from works of law. Under grace, I am righteousness in Christ and I cannot be judged. My new righteousness nature and essence is immutable in Christ and will only continue to grow in Him by grace and faith.
If law is mixed with grace then grace is no longer grace.
Revelation also does not hinge on me. It hinges on grace. I am under grace by grace not because I put myself there. Under this grace, I recieve revelatory truth and word.
