Fullness according to..

Print This Post Print This Post

Ephesians 3:19, “And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Paul says Christ reveals Himself inside, Gal. 1:16. Through Christ in us and us in Him, we grow in revelation and edification of this transcendent, unearthly Love, 1 John 4:7-8.

Love builds up more and more and more and more…1 Cor. 8:1.

We are the vessels of His love 2 Cor. 4:7. These spiritual vessels grow, 2 Peter 3:18, Col. 2:19. I can have fullness by revelation of Him and metaphorically my vessel could be a small cup. I can have fullness by revelation and my vessel could a five gallon bucket, swimming pool, Lake Michigan, Atlantic Ocean, Solar System, Milky Way, etc.

Our vessels grow in Him. In Him ALL FULLNESS dwells, resides and lives bodily, Col. 2:9. We are growing into Him and like Him.

The word “filled” is passive voice in Eph. 3:19. It means’ filled until full by something or rather someone else.’

Paul says, “Be filled with ALL the FULLNESS of God.” What is that? I am chewing on that as well. I will attempt this time, but know this will definitely expand. The word “all” means ‘radically all’. We partake in the riches of His grace, Eph. 1:7, 1:18, 2:7, 3:8, 3:16, Phil. 4:19, Col. 1:27, 2:2. His riches are unsearchable. There are no bounds to His riches. There is no end to them. According to the riches of His grace, we are filled with all fullness and are growing into that as He causes the increase.

51st state of Disarray

Print This Post Print This Post

The big cities in this state are envy, strife,

Phil. 2:3, “[Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”

James 3;16, “For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.”

Envy: ζῆλος zēlos - “(zelos from zeo = to be hot or fervent) describes an eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something and can have a good sense but in context (and as used most often in NT) here zelos has an evil sense, meaning envy, jealousy, anger.”

Strife: ἐριθεία eritheia - “denotes “ambition, self-seeking, rivalry,” self-will being an underlying idea in the word; hence it denotes “party-making.” It is derived, not from eris, “strife,” but from erithos, “a hireling;” hence the meaning of “seeking to win followers,” “factions,”

Confusion: ἀκαταστασία akatastasia - “”instability,” (a, negative, kata, “down,” stasis, “a standing”), denotes “a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion, tumult,”

I was reading in Philippians 2 this morning and Blue Letter Bible took me to James 3:16 where I discovered the Greek word for confusion. Apart from Christ, in our fallen nature, we are unstable and in a state of disarray. Our souls are unregenerate and dead. They have no life, Eph. 2:1. We are separated from God’s love & life energy through His Son because of the hardening of our hearts and ignorance of the truth, Eph. 4:18. Before Christ, we are willfully ignorantly suppressing righteousness, Rom. 1:18 (NIV), “Wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness..” We suppressed righteousness in fear, but His perfect, beautiful, fulfilling love thrusts it out. There is no room for it.

1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

Perfect love, by its nature, habitually thrusts and throws out the imperfect. It builds up and edifies 1 Cor. 8:1. See The beauty of nullification. The imperfect could be the fragments of the old nature and lack that creates fear and separation from His love & life. These fragments of the old man are nullified, obsolesced, absorbed and absolved by the revelation of Christ and we grow from pattern to pattern, image to image unto the fullness of the Godhead bodily in us, Col. 1:19.

The practice and lifestyle of living in death

1 John 3:14 - “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother dwells, resides and lives in death.”

If I am not loving my brother with God’s grace-empowered love then my love is conditional, soulish, limited and leads to idolatry. This phileo-soulish love puts me under its unfilled expectations. You could even say I put myself under a curse. Whoa. This love is self-seeking. It is Jezebel-like and cuts off from godly life energy. See the referenced blogs below. I also am not loving myself if I am not loving my brother. I can only love if I know God and His only Son. Otherwise, my love is presumption-based and it will betray me1. If I love someone based on the self-imposed law in my heart I am setting myself up for disappointment, pain and loss. God’s love is 1 Corinthians 13. It is very different from carnal, soulish love. I believe John is also saying if we are not in Christ then we are under self-imposed law which brings death.

Where does love dwell?

Print This Post Print This Post

This blog builds on Dwelling place.

On 08/22/09, the Lord told me, “I dwell in willingness.”

Gal. 5:6 (YNG) says, “Faith through love working.”

The New International Version says Gal. 5:6 (NIV), “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”

Agapeo love is motivated by grace, faith and the revelation of Him in us. It enables us to make choices that seem hard and be stronger in Him. Christ said He came to do the will of the Father, John 5:30. God, Jehovah or the Existing One is love 1 John 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13.

Christ willfully died when we were yet still sinners, Rom. 5:8. That same willingness can be, should be and is in those who believe in Him, Eph. 1:19.

His love does not try to love, but IS in all purity and truth. Paul says that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, Rom. 5:5.

He abolishes the walls of fear and hate and creates the motive and willingness to love or love itself in the flesh, Eph. 2:15, John 1:14.

How could you love me?

Print This Post Print This Post

Generally speaking, I realized yesterday, 05/03/10, that when someone does not allow you to love them they likely are not allowing or approving  the gift of love towards themselves. They are probably allowing conditional love and possibly do not feel worthy of yours. I believe that is why God sent His Son. He sent unconditional love in the flesh.

He loved us when we could not love ourselves. He did this in Himself by grace and power because HE is Love.

Romans 5:8, “But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

In the Greek, “Sinners” means those who miss the mark. That mark will never be hit by us, but in Christ it gone. Therefore, We ARE NOT called to hit the mark, but to LIVE by His faith in us. Trying to hit a mark to show God we love Him is not necessarily ‘living.’ If I am under obligation to do then why am I doing it? A slave only does what he or she is told to do. A son or daughter heeds to voice of the Father. The Father imprints himself to His children.

Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Galatians 4:1-5, “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Controlling the future

Print This Post Print This Post

Matt. 6:34 (NIV), “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”

If we worry about tomorrow then we could be trying to control or predict the future. In self-strength apart from His faith in us, vain imaginations (thoughts inspired by self-imposed law and fear) are created that self-imposed law attaches to. In turn, the fear of not fulfilling those expectations manifests.

The Word says, “The just shall live by faith.” Faith is not based on what we assume, think or suppose. Faith is revelatory and not time-based. Love, hope and faith do not hinge on fear, but on Him in us. Christ is the pattern of the Last Man or Adam. His pattern in us is according to grace, truth and faith.

When Lazarus died Jesus did not panic. Why? The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily. What does that mean? It means all faith is in Him. Moreover, all FULLNESS. He does not lack. He is all self-sufficient. He said, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” Before the foundations of the earth, He IS and always will BE.

He was moved with compassion and love to do the will of Him who sent Him and raised Lazarus from the dead.

Light Exposure

Print This Post Print This Post

This blog builds a little on Darkness cannot comprehend Light and Truth.

John 1:5, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

1 John 1:5, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

1 Tim. 6:14-16, “Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time-God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light

Eph. 5:8, “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light…”

Eph. 5:13 (NIV), “But everything exposed by the light becomes visible…”

The knowledge of His love could be light. Bearing His mercy and fruit could be light. We are the children of LIGHT!!!

Light cannot be lay hold of by darkness. Darkness is not able to lay hold of light and truth because of its inherent nature. It is incapable of doing so. Once light is in the believer this light cannot be quenched or put out because of the nature of light. The nature of light exposes all that we think or imagine could be hidden. Truth stands alone. Something real is always real. It does not shift or change. He is the truth and the truth is in Him. He is immutable and unchanging. He does not change His mind. His love never fails.

Wishy-washy, indecisive love

Print This Post Print This Post

Today, 01/17/10, my son Aaron’s birthday and interesting thought came to mind, “Love does not change its mind.” John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son..” So, has the Father or Jesus changed their mind since? Nope. He never will either. How could I make such a claim. Read Romans, 1 Corinthians 13. Due to the intrinsic DNA, essence and nature of love it is incapable of being wishy-washy or indecisive.

What is the proof of such love? The Father sent His only begotten Son into time. Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Jesus was born of a woman, under the law, grew in wisdom and grace. He became a man. He became filled with the Spirit. He began His ministry. He called the apostles. He was became a curse for all our sin, was without sin, was a sacrifice without blemish, crucified, shed His blood, went and preached Himself in Sheol, ascended out of Sheol, resurrected, was witnessed by over 500 people at once, ascended on High, was glorified and sat down at the right hand of the Father. He did this while we were still in our sins. Why? God is love. In Christ, was the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Christ was and is love. He is love become flesh. John says He is the word become flesh. He is the revelation of love in bodily form. He is more than that.

In all of this, He did not hesitate or change His mind one time. He said in Heb. 10:7, “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.”

Worrying

Print This Post Print This Post

Matt. 6:25 (NIV), “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”

The Greek word for ‘worry’ is μεριμνάω merimnaō. It means “to be anxious about, to have a distracting care.”

If I know Christ died, descended into Sheol, resurrected, was glorified, ascended on High, and sat down for me then the knowledge of His completed work based on His love and the Father’s love has an influence on me and changes me. Truth1 has an effect on those around it. The purpose of truth is to conform that which it encounters to be like itself because truth stands alone. Truth is undeniably real. Something or someone that is more real than something else has pre-eminence and priority. I recall when I quit smoking. After 6 weeks or so, I forgot I quit. Why? Something more important occupied my care, thoughts and even motive. And it wasn’t a nicotine patch or Zoloft. It was the revelatory truth of the word.

Truth sets you free from what is not real. The things that are not real have not power. 1 Cor. 15:56 says, “The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law.” Sin no longer has power. How has sin lost its power and strength? Eph. 2:14-18, Col. 2:11-15. Jesus nailed the penalty of all the law of Moses and self-imposed law to the cross in His flesh. God Himself in His only Son shed His blood to annul the penalty and guilt of the law even a law I have against myself! Christ’s sacrifice and blood purges one’s conscience from the knowledge of the guilt and penalty of any self-imposed law. It is as if the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did not even exist! If I cannot eat from the tree then I cannot partake of the knowledge of good and evil that will bring guilt and condemnation to my conscience. Only Christ’s work can purge my conscience from dead works and self-imposed law. Now, the Just shall live by faith!

To realize this work and His motive is the beginning to seeing the manifestation of love. Unveiled, real love creates after-thought. The Greek word for repentance means after-thought. This is the free gift of His grace. Love is a gift. You do not owe love or pay it back. Otherwise, it was out of debt and obligation.

If I do not know love then my love is based on self-imposed law and ‘what I think is love.’ That is not love, but soulishness and infatuation based on self which leads to idolatry which has not reality, true fulfillment or peace. This soulish love ‘distracts’ and brings worry or ‘anxious and distracting thoughts.’ This soulish love is not real and lasting. It brings disappointment, Rom. 5:5.

With real love I can have real assurance, comfort, rest and peace.

Who’s in control? Really..

Print This Post Print This Post

Control, manipulation and/or passive aggression say, “I am afraid and I can’t control. So, I am going to try to control <fill in the blank>.”

This not living by faith, but by our intelligence, experience and natural understanding based on the pattern this world, social system, family history, education and oh yes religion. None of these are necessarily truth and revelation according to hearing and hearing the word of truth. Truth sets you free and then ‘you know’. You know you are free. And you are not compelled to try to control because truth is self-sufficient and has no need to free itself. There is not liberty without truth. Jesus said, “I am the truth.” John says, “He came from the Father full of grace and truth.” Truth is real and does not go away. Jesus said, “I am the TRUE vine and you are the branches.” He is truth and our root is in Him by grace. He sets me free from trying to control myself. Huh? Yes, He sets me free from trying to control my life, body, mind and anything else attached, acquainted or affiliated. So, what now? Now, by faith, I love and am becoming love. Love is not afraid to loose control because it does not try to control. That is not its nature. That is not is motive. Love is patient. How patient? Well, the Lord is still waiting isn’t He? Moreover, He IS and in Him is patience. We wait, but He is. We also though are growing to be like Him. Love is intrinsically not manipulative. Love can be influential and inspirational which gives the recipient choice.

1 John 4:8, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

Rom. 10: 9, “That IF thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

IF here in Rom. 10:9 is a conditional particle. Love gives a choice because it loves!
