Agreement with Truth

06/20/10

I have noticed at times in my life there is a tendency to suppress my emotions or minimize them. I sometimes dismiss an emotion like sadness possibly as weakness. It is a good thing for me to be aware of my emotions and to know why I feel the way I do. If I don’t know or acknowledge why I feel the way I do then this could give room for vain imaginations, speculation and doubt. Just because I ignore or dismiss the feelings does not necessarily mean they will going away. We also are not led by our emotions, but by the Spirit of Truth as children of God. We have not received a spirit of fear or confusion. Truth is more real than emotions. We also are not called to be Vulcans1 that are without emotion and base everything on logic. We are new creations in Christ and are growing more into wholeness by the sanctifying work of the Spirit of God.

Ephesians 4:21, “The truth is in Jesus..”

John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

If I am acknowledging or even confessing that I feel a certain way then I am agreeing with Truth. In this established agreement through acknowledgment I can receive grace from the throne of grace.

1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The word “confess” above in 1 John 1:9 is ὁμολογέω homologeō1. It means literally “to speak the same thing” or even “the same word as.” It is a combination of two words “homou” + “logos”.

Jesus is the Word (logos) made flesh, John 1:14. So, homologeō1 could mean “the same fleshly word of Christ as”.

So, in the acknowledgment, understanding and agreement, I am agreeing with Truth, Word or really Him in me. In doing so, I am agreeing or acknowledging with who I really am by grace because our identity is hid in Christ Who is the Truth. How can I love myself if I do not allow myself to feel what I feel and then recognize what I am feeling? That sounds like emotional self-neglect. Not good or healthy. Perhaps that is being machismo2. Machismo is definitely not godliness, but rather pride and self-strength. Ethics3 and culture cannot save me.

The Lord said in John 4:24, “God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.”

So, in the situation mentioned earlier, once I acknowledged I was sad and how I felt I was then agreeing with, partaking of or even becoming truth. I believe it is the effect of the acknowledgment and not necessarily the emotion. The effect is of grace. Truth sets us free from what is not real. The thing that was not real was that my emotions are not as important as I think they are. That is definitely not true. Recognizing that they are shows worth and His love for me. I love me because He is love, has/is showing me love and has shed abroad His love in my heart by His Spirit. He is truth and dwells in me and He is my elder brother. In Him, I am righteousness and truth by grace through His faith in me.

06/21/10

There is another word I discovered this morning via the radio from the following verse,

James 5:16, “Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

This word is ἐξομολογέω exomologeō. It means “to profess, confess, acknowledge openly and joyfully.” In our acknowledging, we have boldness, assurance and plainness of speech before the Father because of Christ our High Priest Who is the Way to the Holy of Holies in our hearts where He dwells by grace and faith. Thank you so much Lord. When I exomologeō, I am openly speaking forth and out by faith, Rom. 10:8. This speaking out of faith has an effect. His word does not return void. I am speaking rhema4 into this creation. Rhema word raises the dead, John 11:43.

In us, at the altar of our hearts, He diffuses His grace, essence and virtue. We are established and being established in Him by His indescribable gift of grace to those who believe. He enables me to exomologeō or “profess, confess, acknowledge openly and joyfully” by His grace. No flesh shall glory in His presence. He is the Author and Finisher our the faith in us. He is the Life in us that we live, move and have our being.

Homologeō1 could be internal and exomologeō could be external.

More light more visibility

Print This Post Print This Post

The more light in me, revelation, truth, grace, the more clarity and visibility around me. Others who are dark I am able to see clearer. Such as motive, emotions, sickness, death. Truth separates from things that are not truth. Things that encounter the light are exposed. If I flash a flashlight at night and something or someone walks in front if it the light exposes it.

Perhaps this is why Paul says, “Where are not unaware of the enemy’s schemes.” I believe a huge part of the enemy’s strategy is to constantly stimulate self-imposed law. How? Thoughts. Revelation apprehends and passively arrests us. If we know something that is undeniably real and true. The truth of what we know affects us. That is what truth does. It aligns everything with it. Truth does not even hinge on time.

By possessing revelatory knowledge of a purged conscience by the blood of Christ these ‘thoughts’ thrown our way become less and less powerful. Self-imposed law based thoughts are works-based, self-strength based, self-condemnation based, and the like. A conscience that is purged nullifies the little. That is what the Aramaic translates into in Corinthians. Something nullified is obsolete and annulled. So, the old man-based or self-based thoughts thrown our way are nullified in Christ? Isn’t that what Paul says in Gal. 2:20, 2 Cor. 5:17?

I remember the Lord told me once, “My forgiveness is greater than your unforgiveness towards yourself.” Even if I am not forgiving myself for whatever this is not even necessary. Repentance is something else. Repentance is and “after thought” with lasting affects on one’s life that do not change or go away. Repentance is real. Whimsical forgiveness based on me failing self-expectations has no value to us being in Christ. This is also what Paul talks about in Phil. 3, “Not having a righteousness

Light Exposure

This blog builds a little on Darkness cannot comprehend Light and Truth.

John 1:5, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

1 John 1:5, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

1 Tim. 6:14-16, “Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time-God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light

Eph. 5:8, “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light…”

Eph. 5:13 (NIV), “But everything exposed by the light becomes visible…”

The knowledge of His love could be light. Bearing His mercy and fruit could be light. We are the children of LIGHT!!!

Light cannot be lay hold of by darkness. Darkness is not able to lay hold of light and truth because of its inherent nature. It is incapable of doing so. Once light is in the believer this light cannot be quenched or put out because of the nature of light. The nature of light exposes all that we think or imagine could be hidden. Truth stands alone. Something real is always real. It does not shift or change. He is the truth and the truth is in Him. He is immutable and unchanging. He does not change His mind. His love never fails.

Did He die for me or not?

1 John 1:10, “10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word (truth, life, hope, peace, love, power, faith) is not in us.”

The word ‘liar’ means,

Liar (5583) (pseustes from pseudomai = to lie) is one who speaks falsehood, untruth, and so attempts to deceive. Thayer adds that pseustes describes “one who breaks faith, a false or faithless man.

Christ is not ‘one who breaks faith, false, or a faithless man.’ He remains the faithful High Priest. 2 Tim. 2:13, “If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”

Self-imposed law hinders revelation. Revelation obliterates self-imposed law.

If I say I am not a sinner or transgressor PRE-salvation then I am saying Christ’s death was not real or enough. If I am not putting my faith in Him or His faith in me. My understanding then derives from the flesh, intellectualism, education, philosophy and/or anything other than the truth that is in Jesus, Eph. 4:21. This is self-justification based on self-imposed law in my heart. Only Christ’s blood can purge my conscience from dead works based on this self-imposed law.

Real expectation

Print This Post Print This Post

Jesus is the hope of glory. He brought His expectation through His faith. His expectation brings real hope that is incapable of disappointment.

Romans 5:5, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

His faith creates expectation of hope, righteousness, life and continuous glory!!!

Galatians 5:5, “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”

If Jesus isn’t there then it is my expectation (from the old man) apart from Christ based on self-imposed law creating enmity and hostility towards God because I am not the Testator of the New Covenant and I cannot fulfill any law. Only Christ can in me and through me by His faith and grace.

Also, If I know something or simply if I know then I expect all the time. I expect because I know. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not yet seen.

He dwells in reality and truth

Print This Post Print This Post

John 1:14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

1 Cor. 5:8, “…the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.”

Today, 10/16/09, the Lord told me, “I dwell in reality and sincerity.” I see reality as absolute and undeniable truth. The root of the Greek word for sincerity in the above verse, 1 Cor. 5:8, can mean ” ‘to separate,’ hence, ‘to be of opinion’, approve, esteem”. Truth is the decision and determining factor. He is truth and truth stands alone. Things that are not true do not stand with truth because they are not genuine. That is why when the foundation of a house cracks or falls it is because it was not established on something immovable. Truth is immovable.

Our identity is hid in Him, Col. 3:3. Our identity is only in the truth. Otherwise, what kind of identity would it be? It would be a self-imposed identity based on what I think is real. This is not necessarily truth. Truth does not budge an inch because it is truth. Truth does not lie or decieve because it is truth. In truth, there is all liberty from all things that are not true. Truth does not have to prove itself because it already is.

If my nature is righteous because of His faith in me and His Spirit apprehending me by grace then I am becoming truth in my triune being. Perhaps, you could say I am even becoming more real.

Resist like light

Print This Post Print This Post

James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Paraphrase from the Greek, “Passively be subjected under God’s grace by the revelation of Christ in you. Resist, oppose and STAND (not sit) against the enemy or adversary and he will flee and take flight.”

Why does the adversary flee and take flight? Because Christ in you is enabling you to STAND established in Him by His grace and you have not moved because it is not within your nature to move or compromise.

If real Light is in me according to hearing the word of faith and the revelation of Christ in me by grace, then resistance to anything dark is passively accomplished due to the nature of the light and revelation of the word in me. The light of the word is truth and reality in me.

Col. 1:12-14, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers (or something that is a portion or part of something else, His fullness and nature) of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered (rescued and preserved) us from the power of darkness, and hath translated (transferred and transposed) [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:”

His work is more real than anything else apart from Him. In Him, my conscience is not aware of the judgment or penalty of the self-imposed law of my heart. Now, in Him, there is NO condemnation ever, but grace unto righteousness, holiness and glory in Him.

Due to its nature darkness cannot apprehend light. He is the hope of glory and light of the world in us!

Darkness cannot comprehend Light and Truth

Print This Post Print This Post

John 1:5, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended (καταλαμβάνω katalambanō) it not.”

Darkness cannot take hold of Light because of its inherent nature.

If the Light of of foundational truth and sound doctrine is in me then darkness cannot comprehend it ever. I cannot even get in the way of Truth in me. My thoughts apart from Christ are vain and empty. If truth and light are real and understood then it cannot go away because it is undeniably true and real. This is starting to sound redundant, but as Jesus said if the winds blow vehemently against the house on the Rock then the house will stand. Why? Because the foundation of the house is hupostasis. It is something that cannot be seen, but is more real than what we even think is reality as we know it. Therefore, darkness has no place. Hallelujah! Thank you Lord. Wow. Praise God. Preaching to myself now.

Light also must know it is genuinely real light. Huh? I must know Light in me and its reality. Otherwise, if I guess, assume, presume or use intellect it is not light. If it is Light in me and I know it is Light in me and what is the Light then darkness is not able to take hold of it EVER. Amen Lord!

Separated from time

Heb. 8:13, “In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which (passive voice) decayeth (obsolete law, Col. 2:14; worn out; no longer applicable) and waxeth old (just plain old) [is] ready to vanish away (to cause to disappear, put out of sight).”

Col. 2:12-14, “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation (godly-life energy, Philemon 1:6) of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”

This blog builds a little on The streak is over.

It seems that old thoughts fade away with time. Possibly, because they are not real, substantial and lasting. I am reminded of Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” How? Because He is more real than the fading thoughts from the old nature that are bent on fear and non-faith. Faith remains forever.

So, even our thoughts apart from Christ age or grow old! Pause and chew again on what you just read. The spiritual substance in us remains. Something that ages or grows old is under the curse. It corrupts. It looses its strength. Jesus separated me from the old me and even time itself or the expectation of time! How? Jesus is more real than time. The good things according the knowledge of Him in my create His godly-life energy, manifest and impart His nature in and through me. These good things are not time dependent, but independent of time. The fruit of the Spirit is independent of time. We bear His fruit because of His faith in us by grace and revelation. These are not time dependent.

That is what Paul means when he says, “That God might reveal His son in me.” The truth is in Him. He is the truth. Truth does not hinge or change because of anything even time itself. This is what ‘near death experience’ people express when they die. They say that where they are or where they go is ‘more real.’ Something that is always now doesn’t change. It is immutable, but is always new. This is the new creation in Christ.

All that can be shaken that is not real or according to His good will and pleasure will be shaken. Truth is immovable!

Lifeline cut off

Print This Post Print This Post

What happens if my lifeline is cut off? Simple, I die. Today, I read Hebrews 3:12 in the Aramaic and it says, “So heed, my brothers, lest there be in human of you an evil heart of not trusting (or no faith) parting from the living God…”

In the Hebrew language or mind, when God said something was “good” or “evil” it meant the thing was either functional or dysfunctional. It worked as designed or did not. In the Greek, the root word for “evil” in “evil heart” means poor, great trouble or even pain. Poor means, “to toil for daily subsistence.” The Lord said, “Give us this day our daily bread.” I am not giving myself daily bread He is.

“Poor” here in the context of Hebrews is in reference to not entering God’s rest or sabbath. If my heart is toiling for daily substistence then this is dysfunctional. This reminds me of the curse of the law which our Lord has redeemed us from. Thank you Lord!

Proverbs 4:23 speaks of keeping or protecting your heart because out of it come the issues of life. If the spirit of my mind is not renewed or regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit according to the primer of the word of truth then my mind is hostile and enmity towards God. This mind is carnal, fleshly or non-spiritual. This mind is death.

If my mind is renewed according to the revelation of Christ this ministers grace, truth, and life to my triune being. It changes me from glory to glory. My heart is protected by Him and His peace. He is our peace. This truth and light of His peace guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. My heart, motivation and will changes because of this truth. The change is towards functionality, or wholeness with purpose and rest.

This change is the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Christ is our sanctification. This sanctification is by grace unto righteousness unto holiness and glory.

My heart believes because the truth and light of Christ has been revealed. I did not suppose this knowledge or make it up, but it was revealed, unvieled, and opened up to me. It is not from me, but is me. Our true identity is hid in Him. There is rest, hope and great assurance in this spiritual substance. Faith is the “substance” of things hoped for.
