Stop being offered

Print This Post Print This Post

Hebrews 10:2, “2If it could, would they not have stopped being offered?”

If I am unsure about my walk, my righteousness before God the Father then there is a possibility I could be under self-imposed law even though I am not. If am tired, trying to make things right, walking the tight rope of self-righteousness, looking over my spiritual shoulder, not sure if my next step is sure then this does not sound like liberty or being under grace or being IN Him to me.

The dead works cease to be offered when you are not compelled to offer them. Why? Because He has revealed Himself IN you! He IS our righteousness and our identity is hid in Him.

This also originates back to our conscience being purged from the guilt and knowledge of the judgment of the law. Which the writer of Hebrews discusses further in Hebrews 10. Good stuff. Thank God for our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Arbitrator - How is our motive changed?

Print This Post Print This Post

I believe our conscience is the arbitrator of motive.

ar⋅bi⋅trate

–verb (used with object)
1. to decide as arbitrator or arbiter; determine.
2. to submit to arbitration; settle by arbitration: to arbitrate a dispute.

–verb (used without object)
3. to act as arbitrator or arbiter; decide between opposing or contending parties or sides.
4. to submit a matter to arbitration.

The blood of Christ has purged our conscience from dead works based on law and self-imposed law. Now, in Christ, we have been predestined unto the adoption of children to do good works. Good works come from a pure motive.

Where does motive come from? What arbitrates motive? Our conscience.

In Christ, our conscience is no longer aware of the judgment or penalty of the law. It has no value of right and wrong. The caveat is our mind does. Our mind remembers. Reference blog, No wonder I keep remembering. Even though our mind remembers and knows, there is no condemnation in Christ in the Spirit. This does not give license to sin. Even though in Christ the conscience does not know what sin is. Motive has changed. If missing the mark or manifestations of the flesh do occur then it could be due to a number of reasons: willful ignorance, ignorance, unregenerate thinking, lack of foundation, no discipleship, unhealthy doctrine, law has been put on the individual, witchcraft, stubbornness, rebellion, fear, self-willed opinion, vain imaginations.

Blogs about the conscience being purged:

Paul says, “To put into oblivion those things which are behind” in Phil. 3. How? Those things which are behind are those things that are attached to the old man and nature. The old nature predicates on the law or self-imposed law. Anything based on self-imposed law is behind and irrelevant. It truly is dead.

The “how” is receiving revelation of a purged conscience and the complete work of Christ. This is why the function and office of the apostle and prophet are important in the Church. They testify and witness the resurrection of Christ. They share the logos or word. They minister sound doctrine. They diffuse and impart power, grace and peace to whosoever. All of this is unto the full stature of Christ.

If I do not have revelatory knowledge of a purged conscience then how will I partake in good works? This revelation gives faith, knowledge, confidence and assurance to whosoever that their conscience is pure. The knowledge has a profound life-changing affect on the recipient. That is what was prophesied in the prophets and restated in Hebrews 10:16, “This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.”

Need for approval

The need for approval has the potential to create vain imaginations. If I fail to meet approval then an idea must be created to counter the failure to approve. Vain imaginations can potentially entangle us, but the just shall live by faith. Vain imaginations are not real and substantial. They cannot save. I cannot save myself. Otherwise, Christ’s death was in vain.

Different time zones

I realized today, 12/25/09, that if I try to keep my self or keep score in my spiritual walk that I am kind of in a way looking into the future and trying to predict what is going to happen when I don’t necessarily know. This is putting law on myself based on self-imposed law’s core. Faith and God’s nature is always now or present pluperfect tense. Also, if I am supposedly looking into the unknown future with a presumption or guess based on self-imposed law this could be related to fortune-telling1 which is not godly, but is witchcraft. Uh oh, there I go again. Well, isn’t that what it is? Samuel said, “Rebellion is as witchcraft…”

How is this witchcraft? What would I be rebelling against? Grace perhaps? Didn’t Paul say, “Who has bewitched you? Who has put a curse on you?” I would say even, “Who has put a spell on you?”

Faith is always Now, but it seems law and self-imposed law is time based which is limiting. The New Covenant is not time based. The Old Covenant is based on sacrificing animals in this fallen creation that is time based and uner the curse. The Mediator of the New Covenant came from outside of time into time and went back outside into eternity to be the our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek (King of Righteousness) forever. True righteousness is grace based through faith and revelation and not self-imposed law.

This reminds me of what I read today. Romans 8:2, ” 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Grace-enabled gift or sacrifice?

This blog builds onAccording to what you have.

2 Corinthians 8:10-12,

10 And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11 Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

I wrote this three months ago and read it again. Noticed something again in verse 12. The word “gift.” A sacrifice may not necessarily be a gift. A true gift is a gift and does not expect anything in return. A gift is given to bless the recipient. This blesses the giver.

Gifts are given by and according to His diffused willingness by grace through revelation.

Super self-pity

What is feeling sorry for oneself?

Some thoughts and opinions come to mind.

  • You are not worthy.
  • You have no worth.
  • You cannot justify your worth no matter how hard you try.
  • It’s only happening to you.
  • You are pitiful.
  • No one understands you or your situation.
  • No one cares or loves you.
  • You just can’t win.
  • You may never make it.
  • When will you ever learn anything?
  • Why don’t you try a new anecdotal recipe? It might help.
    • May even come from the pulpit!
    • Maybe some new vitamins, workout routine, haircut, clothes, car, relationship will help?
  • What is the matter with you?
  • You are such a martyr. No one knows, but you.
  • Push a peanut with your nose and keep pushing.

By the way, these are all lies and deception.

After writing these bullets out and this list could go on and on it seems the feeling sorry for oneself is

  • SUPER-
    • self-loathing
    • self-dislike
    • self-hostility
    • self-blame
    • self-reproach

And all is base on self-imposed law apart from Christ. Christ has abolished this self-imposed law in His flesh. It no longer has power. At the cross, Christ took the enemy’s spoils and stripped away his clothes before the universe exposing him to all, Col. 2:15. Paul said he didn’t even judge himself, 1 Cor. 4:3. Paul said Christ set him free from this self-imposed person of death! Rom. 7:24-25.

ONLY CHRIST CAN SET YOU FREE FROM YOU. NOTHING and NOONE else can. He purges the conscience. No other belief or religion can do this. He did it before the foundations of the earth and time.

He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Darkness cannot comprehend light. Truth stands alone.

Spiritual hereditary rest

Print This Post Print This Post

Hebrews 4:1, “The promise to enter the place of rest is still good..”

Rest: κατάπαυσις or katapausis. It means “a putting to rest” or “calming of the winds.”

Kata means “to diffuse.”

-Pausis or the root, pauo, means:

  • to make to cease or desist
  • to restrain a thing or person from something
  • to cease, to leave off

So, when 2 Cor. 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The old intrinsic man or nature, Col. 2:14, Obliterated blog, is  passing away and really not there in Christ. The new man, Christ in us, the hope of glory, is diffused into every particle and fiber of our existence by grace.

This diffusion creates God’s rest in us! Rest from all dead works, legalistic sacrifices and self-imposed law. This rest says I do not need approval from man because Christ is my righteousness and right standing with God the Father. In this rest, I am not compelled to leave sacrifices even at the altar of my heart because all of the law has been fulfilled for the Jew and abolished for the Gentile. This abolition created by one man created One New Man, Christ Jesus, the Last Adamic pattern for man, Eph. 2:14-16. So, that we can live and walk in the Spirit and live by His faith us all the time in His rest.

Something destroyed should stay destroyed

Galatians 2:17, (CEV) “When we Jews started looking for a way to please God, we discovered that we are sinners too. Does this mean that Christ is the one who makes us sinners? No, it doesn’t! But if I tear down something and then build it again, I prove that I was wrong at first.”

Gal. 2:17-18 (KJV), “But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.”

Even as a physical Jew, if I am trying to please God another way besides His faith and grace in me. Then it is ME (not Him) rebuilding the old barn that was destroyed. I am proving to myself I cannot fulfill my self-imposed law and am falling short of the glory of God, Rom. 3:23. In doing so, I am putting myself back under law that I suppose to be judging me and am unable to ever fulfill when in reality there truly is No condemnation in Christ for those in the Spirit.

Lifeline cut off

Print This Post Print This Post

What happens if my lifeline is cut off? Simple, I die. Today, I read Hebrews 3:12 in the Aramaic and it says, “So heed, my brothers, lest there be in human of you an evil heart of not trusting (or no faith) parting from the living God…”

In the Hebrew language or mind, when God said something was “good” or “evil” it meant the thing was either functional or dysfunctional. It worked as designed or did not. In the Greek, the root word for “evil” in “evil heart” means poor, great trouble or even pain. Poor means, “to toil for daily subsistence.” The Lord said, “Give us this day our daily bread.” I am not giving myself daily bread He is.

“Poor” here in the context of Hebrews is in reference to not entering God’s rest or sabbath. If my heart is toiling for daily substistence then this is dysfunctional. This reminds me of the curse of the law which our Lord has redeemed us from. Thank you Lord!

Proverbs 4:23 speaks of keeping or protecting your heart because out of it come the issues of life. If the spirit of my mind is not renewed or regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit according to the primer of the word of truth then my mind is hostile and enmity towards God. This mind is carnal, fleshly or non-spiritual. This mind is death.

If my mind is renewed according to the revelation of Christ this ministers grace, truth, and life to my triune being. It changes me from glory to glory. My heart is protected by Him and His peace. He is our peace. This truth and light of His peace guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. My heart, motivation and will changes because of this truth. The change is towards functionality, or wholeness with purpose and rest.

This change is the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Christ is our sanctification. This sanctification is by grace unto righteousness unto holiness and glory.

My heart believes because the truth and light of Christ has been revealed. I did not suppose this knowledge or make it up, but it was revealed, unvieled, and opened up to me. It is not from me, but is me. Our true identity is hid in Him. There is rest, hope and great assurance in this spiritual substance. Faith is the “substance” of things hoped for.

Spiritually tired all week ready for Sunday

Print This Post Print This Post

It seems to me that sometimes believers can’t wait for Wendsday, Saturday or Sunday church service for a number of reasons, but a different one came to mind today.

Before elaborating, I believe some go to hear or see the ministry of the Word. Some go to hear Christ proclaimed. Some healing, singing praise and worship songs, fellowship and serving. These are the reasons worth mentioning.

I also believe some go because being under the law all week will wear you out, Luke 11:46 (NLT). When I sing, fellowship, and hear the Word my faith grows, I am filled, revelation occurs.

What if some believers were not “under the law” all week and then came into a service? What does this mean? Here are some previous blogs discussing legalism,

If you query “under the law” 7 pages of blogs will be displayed.

A generic definition of under law would be it will wear you out spiritually and kill you spiritually, Rom. 7:11. If this is true then this should be a real concern for my spiritual walk with Christ.
