Wilderness shoutout

Print This Post Print This Post

This blog is dedicated to those believers who feel like they are in the wilderness. What is that?

The Hebrew meaning of wilderness is “the arrangement of things to create order.1

1 Cor. 14:33, “For God is not [the author] of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”

I am reminded of when someone breaks a bone in their body, but it is not setting correctly so the doctor must break the bone again in order to set it the right way. This must be agony for the patient, but it is for the patient’s well-being. The initial pain is almost unbearable, but is necessary for the results.

Heb. 12:7, “Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?”

Heb. 12:11, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

So, how do we endure? Is God going to browbeat us into obedience? I say no. Chapter and verse brother please?

Rom. 1:17, Gal. 2:20, Gal. 3:11, Heb. 10:38

“The just shall live by faith.” This faith is His faith in us that we partake of by revelation. This is how we can be more than conquerors in the wilderness. Jesus went into the wilderness and came out in the power of the Holy Spirit as the Last Adam bringing obedience unto righteousness and holiness sanctifying those who would believe on Him. The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him.

The wilderness can be an awesome place to be and how we respond in this environment will take us to where we are going. Whether it be in circles to insanity or onward with vision and purpose in His will, Phil. 3:13-14.

In the wilderness, we are not led by our souls, understanding, intellect, sight, feelings, emotions, other’s opinions, hunches, but by revelation of Him in us.

Deu. 8:2, “And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.”

Our righteousness is no longer based on law-keeping. Christ is our righteousness, 1 Cor. 1:30, Phil. 3:9.

I believe the order that is created from the wilderness is created by His grace through faith. Romans 5:1-5.

The bible says Jesus died for our salvation and that we might know God and His overflowing love for us. I believe Jesus also died for our motive. Our motive prior to salvation was contrary to us and against our best interest. Our motive was used to betray us and spiritually kill us, Rom. 7:11. We were spiritual dead in our trespasses and sins without knowledge of Him.

In the wilderness, there is potential and opportunity to grow in His motive and will in us by the renewing of our minds, Rom. 12:2. This imparts his nature and grace into us making us (mature) sons of God, Rom. 8:14. Order almost seems to be a manifestation of His will in this creation. Reminds me of redemption, Eph. 1:10.

Elijah prayed for rain..

Today, 06/25/10, 4:00 PM CST, the boys and I were driving home. I noticed the lawn was dry and commented. Immediately, Aaron said, “Lord, I pray for rain so the yard does not stay dry. It needs water.” I said, “Just like Elijah.”

It is 93 degrees right now. No clouds. Forecast said partly cloudy. I see nothing but sun. Well, I’d say one minute or so after my eight year old prayed this we hear a clap of thunder. I wasn’t sure if I heard what I thought I heard and then Aaron said, “Daddy, I heard thunder.” Ben said, “Yep, you got the answer. Let’s play a video game.” Amazing. Thank you Lord for Your beautiful faith in these boys. Bless them Lord.

Where does love dwell?

Print This Post Print This Post

This blog builds on Dwelling place.

On 08/22/09, the Lord told me, “I dwell in willingness.”

Gal. 5:6 (YNG) says, “Faith through love working.”

The New International Version says Gal. 5:6 (NIV), “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”

Agapeo love is motivated by grace, faith and the revelation of Him in us. It enables us to make choices that seem hard and be stronger in Him. Christ said He came to do the will of the Father, John 5:30. God, Jehovah or the Existing One is love 1 John 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13.

Christ willfully died when we were yet still sinners, Rom. 5:8. That same willingness can be, should be and is in those who believe in Him, Eph. 1:19.

His love does not try to love, but IS in all purity and truth. Paul says that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, Rom. 5:5.

He abolishes the walls of fear and hate and creates the motive and willingness to love or love itself in the flesh, Eph. 2:15, John 1:14.

Seed planted

Christ is the hope of glory and Word of God. The logos or word of God is a like a seed of ever-eager expectation (hope of glory).

A mustard seed is planted. You know the very small seed is hidden in the ground even though you can’t see it. The seed has all potential to do and be what it was purposed to be. How do you know that the seed will grow without seeing it? By His faith and grace according to revelation of the word. Faith gives understanding.

I know this Seed in me, Gal. 3:16. Christ is the eternal, immortal, all-powerful Seed. And by faith, I can have understanding of its potential everyday. The potential is to change and redeem the planet. Thank you Father for your Son. Thank you for your mercy and loving-kindness.

Controlling the future

Matt. 6:34 (NIV), “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”

If we worry about tomorrow then we could be trying to control or predict the future. In self-strength apart from His faith in us, vain imaginations (thoughts inspired by self-imposed law and fear) are created that self-imposed law attaches to. In turn, the fear of not fulfilling those expectations manifests.

The Word says, “The just shall live by faith.” Faith is not based on what we assume, think or suppose. Faith is revelatory and not time-based. Love, hope and faith do not hinge on fear, but on Him in us. Christ is the pattern of the Last Man or Adam. His pattern in us is according to grace, truth and faith.

When Lazarus died Jesus did not panic. Why? The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily. What does that mean? It means all faith is in Him. Moreover, all FULLNESS. He does not lack. He is all self-sufficient. He said, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” Before the foundations of the earth, He IS and always will BE.

He was moved with compassion and love to do the will of Him who sent Him and raised Lazarus from the dead.

Arbitrator - thoughts

This blog builds on two previous blogs:

Here is the content of the blog Need for approval.

The need for approval has the potential to create vain imaginations. If I fail to meet approval then an idea must be created to counter the failure to approve. Vain imaginations can potentially entangle us, but the just shall live by His faith in them. Vain imaginations are not real and substantial. They cannot save. I cannot save myself. Otherwise, Christ’s death was in vain.

So, why is there a need for approval? How about MOTIVE. What motivates me to have the desire for approval? Hmmm, what arbitrates1 motive in me and everyone in mankind? The wonderful conscience. Needless to say, God knew what He was doing when He created man and his conscience in His image.

Now, let’s turn the table. In Christ, our conscience does not value the difference between right and wrong. It has been purged from dead works. Dead works manifested because of motive. The conscience is the arbitrator of motive. An non-purged or defiled conscience IS aware of the difference between good and evil and motivates dead works. Dead works do not justify us before God the Father. Only His Son, our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek, can justify, sanctify and make righteous. He Himself takes away our sins once for all. He said, “Shelem” or “It is complete and fulfilled in every way” on the cross. Shelem crossed time, space and all of creation.

Since our conscience is no longer aware of the judgment and penalty of the law our motive is purified. Wow, that is amazing and life changing. Please read that at least three times. When we are baptized, immersed or literally drowned into Christ at salvation. We are drowned until we die. Then we resurrect in newness of His life and faith in us by grace and revelation. The motive of the dead person who drowned in the water is dead as well. The motive of the old man is dead in Christ. This is what Paul says in Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” And in Col. 3:3, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Who is dead? The old man and its nature to constantly try ‘to be’ based on self-imposed law. Its motive was based on the starving need for approval. The approval is no longer required. We are predestined to the the adoption of children in Christ according to the good pleasure and will of the Father. My sons do not require my approval for me to love them. Love is not self-seeking and keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not change its mind. Perfect love casts out fear and torment.

Motive is purified. Now, my thoughts are renewed according to hearing the word. Titus 3:5, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing (bathing by the word of truth, Eph. 5:26) of regeneration (ever-constant renewal in present pluperfect tense by revelatory word or logos), and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

Col. 3:10, “And have put on the new [man], which is renewed (ever-constant renewal in present pluperfect tense by revelatory word or logos) in knowledge (revelatory word) after the image (Christ the original pattern) of him that created him:”

So, how does Phil. 4:8-9 occur? Motive. Motive. Motive. The power of positive thinking does not save you. Grace enabled motive and a purified conscience do. John 1:16, “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”

The power of positive thinking is witchcraft. Yep, it is. Is Christ pre-eminent in positive thinking? At the root, “No.” It is rebellion against grace. Rebellion is as witchcraft according to the prophet Samuel.

So, what does the conscience perceive in positive thinking? “You better be positive. Be a good person. You must think positive. Why aren’t you thinking positive?” Doesn’t sound like pure motive to me. Only the holy blood of Christ can purify the conscience from the guilt, judgment and penalty of the law. In turn, motive is purified, thoughts are renewed by revelation. Once again, “The just shall live by His faith in them.” His faith comes by hearing and hearing the word, revelation. Faith deposits, diffuses into wisdom, knowledge and understanding and becomes you. We inherit His righteous nature. This nature comes by hearing the word. The triune person: spirit, soul, body; is sanctified by revelation of Christ in them. Sanctification unto righteousness, unto holiness, unto eternal life now in this life and the life to come.

Our thoughts seem to come from what we hear mixed with motive. Faith comes by hearing. If not faith then I am hearing the prince of power of the the air, the enemy. It is either one or the other. The old nature is fallen and influenced by the deception of the enemy.

In summary, the purged conscience motivates with godly purity. The renewed mind in Christ navigates us as sons of God walking in the Spirit, Titus 1:1. This all occurs naturally and effortlessly in His rest.

Onward!

If a brother or sister stumbles or even utterly falls they do not start over, but continue onward. As believers, I am of the opinion we can only go forward, Phil. 3:13, and NOT start over. Rom. 8:1 says, “There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 2:18 says, “If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker.”

Rebuilding what I destroyed is ’starting over.’ This is trying to hit the bulls-eye, but there isn’t one. His righteousness in us is not compelled to gain self-approval for peace. He is our peace, Eph. 2:14. If our nature is intrinsically righteous according to revelation and grace then we ARE. If we ARE then we don’t have to try to be or even try to sustain ourselves, but grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. He keeps us.

Do you see what I see?

Rom. 1:22-26, “22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.”

Paul says in Rom. 1:23 those professing to be wise became fools and changed God’s incorruptible glory to incorruptible things based on eyesight. This is not faith. Colossians says Christ is the image, representation and manifestation of the invisible (that which cannot be seen by fleshly eyes) God. Hebrews says Christ is the essence of the Father and now the Father speaks to us by His only Son through revelation, Gal. 1:12,16.

Col. 1:15, “15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”

Heb. 1:1-2, “1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…

Real expectation

Print This Post Print This Post

Jesus is the hope of glory. He brought His expectation through His faith. His expectation brings real hope that is incapable of disappointment.

Romans 5:5, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

His faith creates expectation of hope, righteousness, life and continuous glory!!!

Galatians 5:5, “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”

If Jesus isn’t there then it is my expectation (from the old man) apart from Christ based on self-imposed law creating enmity and hostility towards God because I am not the Testator of the New Covenant and I cannot fulfill any law. Only Christ can in me and through me by His faith and grace.

Also, If I know something or simply if I know then I expect all the time. I expect because I know. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not yet seen.

Beings of faith

Sounds like we are created from the get-go to be beings of faith like the Creator. Duh.

Sensation and Action
Over the past decade psychologists such as Daniel M. Wegner of Harvard University amassed experimental evidence for a number of conscious sensations that accompany any willful action. The two most important are intention and agency. Prior to voluntary behavior lies a conscious intention. When you decide to lift your hand, this intention is followed by planning of the detailed movement and its execution. Subjectively, you experience a sensation of agency. You feel that you, not the person next to you, initiated this action and saw it through. If a friend were to take your hand and pull it above your head, you would feel your arm being dragged up, but you would not feel any sense of being responsible for it. The important insight here is that the consciously experienced feelings of intention and agency are no different, in principle, from any other consciously experienced sensations, such as the briny taste of chicken soup or the red color of a Ferrari.
