Controlling the future

Print This Post Print This Post

Matt. 6:34 (NIV), “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”

If we worry about tomorrow then we could be trying to control or predict the future. In self-strength apart from His faith in us, vain imaginations (thoughts inspired by self-imposed law and fear) are created that self-imposed law attaches to. In turn, the fear of not fulfilling those expectations manifests.

The Word says, “The just shall live by faith.” Faith is not based on what we assume, think or suppose. Faith is revelatory and not time-based. Love, hope and faith do not hinge on fear, but on Him in us. Christ is the pattern of the Last Man or Adam. His pattern in us is according to grace, truth and faith.

When Lazarus died Jesus did not panic. Why? The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily. What does that mean? It means all faith is in Him. Moreover, all FULLNESS. He does not lack. He is all self-sufficient. He said, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” Before the foundations of the earth, He IS and always will BE.

He was moved with compassion and love to do the will of Him who sent Him and raised Lazarus from the dead.

Running for dear life

1 Kings 19:1-2, “1-3 Ahab reported to Jezebel everything that Elijah had done, including the massacre of the prophets. Jezebel immediately sent a messenger to Elijah with her threat: “The gods will get you for this and I’ll get even with you! By this time tomorrow you’ll be as dead as any one of those prophets. And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

Jezebel could be a metaphor of “self-imposed” law setting expectations. Could Elijah have been evading self-imposed law? His conscience was definitely not purged from dead works. He was under the Old Covenant. He ran in fear. I am going out on  a limb and saying yes. Christ told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Essence of fear

In cafeteria this morning, 10/22/09, getting coffee. I noticed a woman next to me. I sensed her fear. The thought came to mind, “Self-imposed law creates fear.”

So, what is this ’self’ apart from Christ? It seems like a fragmented, dead, insecure, self-willed, non-redemptive, unregenerate, spiritually uncircumcised, willfully ignorant, stubborn soul and dead in spirit.

Paul speaks of the ‘old man.’ The old man does not know love. Perfect love casts out fear and torment forever.

So, self-imposed law, Col. 2:14, creates an expectation and need for approval. It is never satisfied apart from Christ. The old man along with the intrinsic self-imposed law creates fear because of judgment and condemnation. Fear or the lack of the knowledge of perfect love can manifest in various ways, Gal. 5:19-21. The flesh manifests itself because of fear. The fruit of the Spirit bears itself because of grace and revelation. Therefore, the just shall live by faith or His faith in them. The just shall live their lives on this planet in revelation of Christ in them through faith and grace. This is the New Covenant.

His perfect will does not possess fear

Played foosball today, 07/22/2009. I was a little concerned about being skunked. Then this thought came to mind, “You can’t will to win with fear.”

“His willingness does not abide with fear of failure or judgment.”

His will just IS. He does not second guess Himself because He already knows.

Fear based on self-imposed law impedes His perfect will. It impedes or hinders because it empowers the old nature which is not walking or living in the Spirit. The just shall live by His faith in them.

His perfect will does not possess fear.

His will is perfect and not whimsical.

If I “try” to be willing then this is a self-strength based will. Revelation of Him based on hearing the word imparts understanding and knowledge of His will. This knowledge is without lack. His nature is fullness. In His righteous nature, there is no fear of not being righteous because He is. He is the I am that I am. In His fullness, His willingness is complete and without hesitation based on supernatural godly love. He is love. He is perfect love that casts out fear and torment.

When He said, “Let there be light.” He did not hesitate or doubt what He said. It is impossible for God to doubt Himself or His own will. This will is in us by revelation of God’s only Son!

Can’t enter His rest by fear

Playing foosball today, 07/28/09, and was playing very well. Played basketball the other day and I almost couldn’t miss. I’ve noticed players like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, Tom Brady and the like who get to where they are at because of who they are really. Part of who they are I believe is an inherent and consuming willingness to win. The will to win does not think about loosing. It can only think about winning. Spiritually speaking, His hope is incapable of disappointment or being let down. The promises in Christ are always yes and amen. We abide in constant expectation of His righteousness becoming our righteousness reckoning to our account.

Hebrews 4 says to enter the Holy of Holies now with boldness and not fear. We have spiritual substance in us that is called “thoughts without fear.” Over time, as we spiritually grow in the knowledge and grace of Christ, this substance becomes more of who we really are in Christ. We grow into His nature and righteousness. We begin to think, know, live and speak what we know because of Who we know in us.

I believe this is part of moving in the fullness of the blessings of the gospel. This also seems related to faith unto knowing, Rom. 15:29. How could I move, dwell or live in His fullness if I don’t know? You’ve got to know. We can know by grace through revelation. The messenger needs to be sent to impart the revelation, Rom. 10:15.

Going down

I had a dream last night that that reminded me of a C.S.I. (Crime Scene Investigation.) I was with a small group of people searching for someone who was possibly missing. Our investigation appeared to be located in what seemed to be a relatively large hotel. We searched and searched and then finally got to an elevator. The elevator opened and I saw a glimpse of the murdered body on the group. The murderer was also in the elevator. He or it grabbed the person in front of me. I grabbed his hand to pull him back, but there was not much of a fight. He slipped away. Then the murderer in the elevator tried to grab me. I stepped back and woke up from my dream. I also knew the elevator was going down. Not up.

1 Cor. 15:55 says, “O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?”

I see the elevator going down as a means to Sheol or the grave. I believe the Greeks misinterpret Sheol and call it Hades. Both places are very different. The Hebraic Sheol is not the same as the Greek mythological Hades.

Jesus went into to Sheol and led the captives who were there back with Him to heaven. He is the Resurrection and Way. Prior to Christ’s arrival in Sheol, the souls there did not have knowledge of the Resurrection or Way out. Their knowledge was from the first Adam which was death, Rom. 5:14. A new Man or Adam, the Last Adam, revealed Himself to the souls who were created in His image in Sheol. Christ preached Himself to the captives. He imparted His resurrection power, Rom. 6:9. They received this knowledge and power and there spirits were quickened, Eph. 2:5. They were saved.

That was a tangent, but a good one. So, according to 1 Cor. 15:55 and many other verses in Christ, death does not have dominion over me or Christ in me.

The dead person in the elevator was perhaps the old me. Our adversary, the enemy, accuses the brethren and is a murderer Rev. 12:10, John 8:44. The condemnation of the law with kill me, Rom. 7:11, 2 Cor. 3:6.

I believe the man slipping away is what Paul says in Philippians, “Forget those things which are behind.” Quote from ,What was destroyed?

“The long Greek word for ‘forgetting those things which are behind’ is epilanthanomai. It means to intensely, willfully forget or even give to oblivion.”

The thoughts of accusation, condemnation and even self-righteousness are obsolete in Christ. Since the power of the law was abolished and nullified in His flesh these “thoughts” fade into oblivion. One definition of oblivion1 is, “the state of being completely forgotten or unknown.”

I think the search part in the dream is working out our salvation with fear and trembling, Phil. 2:12. I believe the fear and trembling is an open awareness of God through Christ and not a legal fear of condemnation.

I believe the large hotel is me. It is reflective of deep areas in my life that become exposed to absolute liberty by the light of Christ. I believe the hotel is the Church as well. I am a part of the Church and the Kingdom of God is within me, Luke 17:21.

Substance into words

Print This Post Print This Post

This blog ties to Spiritual substance deposit.

So, in the Aramaic, patience means,  “Thought without anxiety”. In the Greek, boldness or plainness of speech literally means, “Words without fear.” I see a similarity hear. 1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out fear.” How do I acquire this perfect love? By grace. John 1:17 says, “Grace came through Jesus.” Jesus said He is THE way. Paul said in Gal. 1:16 that Christ was revealed internally.

How? Someone must be sent to preach the living, quickened, life-giving Word or Logos to the hearer. By the way, Jesus was sent by the Father. Once someone is sent, the hearer spiritually hears the word of God. Faith comes by hearing. In this faith, understanding is given. Understanding is deposited and diffused into one’s being and person. I am of the opinion this faith is a spiritual substance if you could call it that. When it is imparted “thoughts without anxiety” are an attributing effect. After this, “words without fear” are spoken now. The motivation is the passive effect of godly love by grace.

How does sin manifest?

Print This Post Print This Post

How does sin come about?

Sin is missing the demarcation of the law. Sin is not imputed when there is no law. A purged conscience does not have knowledge of the demarcation of the law. Now, grace, power, faith, hope and love empower and enable fulfillment of the law in us by His willingness. If the demarcation of the law is unknown then sin is dis-empowered.

Romans 8:15, “15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear

If sin entices the flesh and comes to life it does so by the spirit of bondage to fear. Prior to Christ, sin is the manifestation of the spirit of bondage by fear. The knowledge of perfect love casts out fear. Now, we are in Christ and in the Spirit. If we are in Christ then we have the Spirit of power, love and a whole mind. With His love, faith, and grace in us we are unaware of the judgment, guilt, or penalty of the law or self-imposed law in our hearts.

Love goes through walls

Print This Post Print This Post

Ephesians 2:14 talks about a middle wall being broken up, destroyed, demolished and even dissolved. What is this middle wall between the Jew and Gentile? It was the judgment, guilt and penalty of the Mosaic Law and even the law written on the Gentile hearts!

Luke 24:36 says Jesus appeared in the midst of the disciples and they thought He was a spirit. I believe this is the scripture where people derive the story of Jesus’s resurrected flesh walking through walls.

A while back, I wrote The Fringe - “Safe” Episode. In this episode, the characters theoretically (by quantum mechanics) are able to walk through a sold steel, vaulted safe.

I also am reminded of mid-evil times of castles and knights. The design of castles was to keep intruders and the enemy outside. The moat and castle walls were there for protection. Comparatively, fear creates walls. These walls do not exist in Love. Love is not aware of these walls. Christ is the crucified Lamb before the foundations of the earth. Love was before the law. Love fulfills and establishes the all the law.

Walls cannot exist in Love. They are destroyed, abolished and dissolved. Walls separate, but Christ is our peace. The Greek word for peace means to join together. The Hebrew word shalom is even more. Shalom means to make whole without any lack, but in the God kind of way. My definition is lacking to what it really is. It is more than that. Perfect loves drives and casts away fear and torment. The knowledge of perfect love comes by revelation of Christ by hearing the word. When perfection comes the little or imperfect is nullified or disappears, 1 Cor. 13:10.

So, ask yourself next time you perceive some type of wall, “Can His love go through this wall?” Or “Is this wall really here?” “Why do I perceive it is there?” “Why does it seem so real?” What if there is no wall? Isn’t that what Eph. 2:14 says?

Self-imposed enmity

Print This Post Print This Post

Eph. 2:15, “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of two one new man, [so] making peace;”

I create enmity, animosity, hostility, antagonism in myself and put on myself through self-imposed law in my heart.

What?

If I am unable to meet my perception of God’s standards (which I can’t) then these things below are created because I cannot fulfill my self-imposed law in my heart.

I’ve added the prefix self- and italicized words.

self-Enmity1: The quality of being an enemy towards self and others; hostile or unfriendly self-disposition. A state of self-opposition;

self-Animosity2: A feeling of strong self-(dislike, ill will, or enmity) that tends to display itself in action: a deep-seated animosity between two sisters; animosity against one’s neighbor.

self-Hostility3: self-Opposition or self-resistance to an idea, plan, project, etc. This sounds similar to another blog, Anarchism in the church - pseudo-godliness. Makes sense if there is strife in church, family, teams, and so on.

self-Antagonism:

  • Ecology definition - a relationship between two species (Jew vs. Gentile or Myself vs. Self-imposed law) of organisms in which the individuals of each species adversely affect the other, as in competition.
  • An opposing force, principle, or tendency: Her plan to become an actress met with the antagonism of her family. If this is true, then I would be against myself based on my self-imposed law!

After reading these definitions, it seems as though if I have a perception of God’s standard in my life based self-imposed law and I fail to meet it then perfect Love is not casting out fear4 and I am not walking in the Spirit or liberty that I have in Christ. I am walking under judgment due to the failure of not keeping my self-imposed law. This creates self-enmity and no Godly love of myself or in myself. If I have fear or timidity of not keeping the God-standard I think I am supposed to keep then I am making myself a slave by the spirit of fear unto bondage5.

So, why is perfect Love not casting out fear? I receive faith by hearing and hearing the Word of God. This faith brought by revelation makes me a new creature. It supernaturally changes my nature into righteousness like God my Father by His Son Jesus Christ. Revelation of His nature is also of His Love nature. He IS Love. This Love grows in me by grace through faith based on hearing and hearing the Word of God. Revelation casts out fear. Just as darkness is cast out by light. Once you have light, darkness cannot be dark anymore or dwell with light. This is all based on grace and revelation of Christ in us and not what the perception of His love is. My self-imposed law perception apart from Christ is a total contrast than walking and living in Him or revelation unto faith in Him.
