Hebrew for heart is “authority within”

In the ancient Hebrew, heart means “authority within”.

Let His peace because he is peace (wholeness, completion) umpire your mind and heart. Hebrews see mind and heart combined. He is the Shepherd of our souls. “Authority within.” The authority could be His peace (His IS peace) over our hearts and minds from the guilt and judgment of the law. I am growing into peace in Him.

John 5:37, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”

Eph. 1, “Mystery of His will” enables authority as we grow in grace and knowledge.

Peace makes the call

Col. 3:15, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Peace, by Greek definition, is the arbitrating umpire or referee in a competition.

Competition of what? How about competition of self-imposed law versus self. Self-imposed law says, “You aren’t good enough unless you do this then you’re good enough.” It also says, “You are good enough because you did do this.” So, there is the competition. Self always looses. Chapter and verse. Okay. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” So, what has everyone fallen short of? The glory of God. Paul said, “No one is righteous. Not even one”, Rom. 3:10.

Righteousness is not based on presumption, assumption, speculation, a guess, good morals, good ethics, how nice someone is, or even if they are in ministry. Righteousness is partaking of the divine intrinsic nature rooted in revelation of Christ in us.

He IS peace. He made the Jew and Gentile into ONE man in Himself! In doing  so, the competition is over. Glory. Thank you Lord.

What is the point here? In Christ, I can BE. Huh? I can BE. If I can BE then I don’t have to strive to BE, but AM in Him by grace. I can BE because I partake of His grace, righteousness and peace.

Phil. 3:9, “And be found in him (BE), not having mine own righteousness (self-imposed law also), which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by (HIS) faith:”

There’s nothing wrong with you

This blog builds on the Envy not good blog.

I was reading in Acts 13:44-45 and it says,

“On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul.”

The same thing occurred with Jesus in Mark 15:10. So, I started to notice that envy is much bigger than I first thought. What’s interesting is that the public doesn’t frown up on it, but in some situations it seems like if you are envious then you’re goal oriented. That is my opinion. What is certain though is that it is not talked about very much in public or the church. What is talked about is lust, greed, stealing, and drug or alcoholic addiction. Another personal opinion.

I prayed and thought about what is part of envy’s lie? This is what came to mind.

Initially, envy says nothing is wrong with you until it tells you something or someone else is better and you lack it. Then it says there is something wrong with you. The something or someone better can be one of two things: a lie or truth. In either case, envy seems to enable self-strength (which leads to idolatry) to acquire what it thinks it lacks, but is not able to ever be satisfied. No peace or rest.

What also is interesting is in the Hebrew and Aramaic the noun word of envy is envy, but the verb word is jealousy. The noun almost seems like a passive seed and jealousy is its active fruit.

In God’s nature, love does not envy. Love is aware of itself and who it is. If I know who I am in Christ then envy has no power. In my identity in Christ, by grace and according to the word of truth, I cast down envious and vain imaginations that are contrary to who I am because I know they are not true. Love is all self-sufficient.

Hope is created by faith through the revelation of Christ in us. His hope is constantly churning an engulfing, consuming, eager expectation in the believer by grace. This hope is totally contrary in nature to envy. Love always hopes and perseveres. It never fails. Love hopes for a good report. Love eagerly expects good things to happen and wants good things to happen to others and not just itself. Love is all self-sufficient, but not self-seeking.

One flesh

Ephesian 5:31, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

The Greek word for ‘agree’ or ‘acknowledge’ is symphoneo. It is akin to symphony. The definition is: lit., “to sound together” (sun, “together,” phone, “a sound”), i.e., “to be in accord, primarily of musical instruments,” is used in the NT of the “agreement.”

The Greek word for ‘confess’ is homologeo and it means lit., “to speak the same thing” (homos, “same,” lego, “to speak”), “to assent, accord, agree with.”

When both man and wife are in homologeo and symphoneo they are creating their unique anointing together even in the bond of peace. Their ONE FLESH is under grace and the authority of Christ in both the man and wife. In Christ, and the revelation of Him, both the man and wife possess and grow in the same understanding (by faith), mind, and grace together in unity. Their flesh acts together or coalesces, Col. 2:19, as ONE FLESH because of the regenerative, sanctifying, empowering, liberating work of the Holy Spirit in the spirit and soul of each spouse. Their ONE FLESH is under Christ power and authority.

A previous blog, Harmony, contains more information on homologeo and symphoneo.

Chief witness part 3 - Thoughts of accusation or defense

This blog builds on Chief witness and Chief witness part 2.

Romans 2:14-15 (NIV) says, “(Indeed, when Gentiles (non-Jews), who do not have the law (Moses Law), do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)”

Prior to knowing Christ and even as a Christian this has been true in my life. According to an expectation I put in my heart, I have either severely put myself down or pat myself on the back and base my spirituality on this which led to more confusion and unnecessary trials in my walk. Needless to say, I was frustrated. I was frustrated because I was partaking of ‘another’ gospel, 2 Cor. 11:4, Gal. 1:6-7.

I hope and pray that the readers of this particular blog receive the core message. To me, this revelation has changed me so much and so quickly. This message has turned my life into a new direction, dimension and spiritual consciousness I could only dream of. I am persuaded it is only the beginning and the best is yet to come! I really hope it blesses you immensely. Lord, I pray, grant a spirit of wisdom and revelation to the reader. I speak Your faith to the readers Lord. I ask you Lord, to give ears to hear. I pray Lord, unveil your Word. I pray this seed fall on good ground and bear fruit to give the Father glory by His Son. Amen.

So, what does Rom. 2:14-15 mean? To me, it tells me prior to Christ all of mankind has some sort of law written on their hearts. Even though man is fallen, he was still created in the image of God.

Also, prior to this revelation, the ‘chief witness’ or my conscience witnesses the right or wrong thoughts that are based in my heart. (God knows everyone’s thoughts. Hebrews 4:12, Luke 16:15.)

Here is an example of the conscience witnessing the law written on the heart.

Hypothetically speaking, let’s say I think of robbing a bank (which I won’t and don’t encourage or condone.)

Did I sin? Am I judged?

One answer is, “Well as long as you didn’t do it you’re okay.” That suggests dead works, “as long as you didn’t do it.” This tells me the train of thought is saying what I do justifies the doer. This is not New Covenant doctrine. This is akin to keeping the law or a law in order to not fall under judgment or condemnation.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:20, “For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Huh? Is that possible? Yes, by grace through His faith in me.

Am I judged by the thought?

Yes, if your conscience has not been purged from dead works or the law.

*** No, if your conscience has been purged from dead works.

For the longest time, I wanted to purchase an Aramaic New Testament. I bought “The Aramaic New Covenant A Literal Translation & Transliteration” a few years ago. ISBN 0 963 1951 6 6.

Hebrews 10:2-4 (Aramaic NT) says, “– because now not being troubled in conscience with their sins who one time purified them: — but in them, by their sacrifices, they remembered their sins every year. For the blood of bulls and goats is not able to purify sins.”

Hebrews 10:2 (Robert Young Literal), “since, would they not have ceased to be offered, because of those serving having no more conscience of sins, having once been purified?

Hebrews 10:2 (J.N. Darby), “Since, would they not indeed have ceased being offered, on account of the worshipers once purged having no longer any conscience of sins?

How in the world could I not be conscious of the judgment of this thought? My conscience is not troubled or aware of the judgment of the law written in my heart because Christ’s body is the One-time-for-All offering for my sin, Heb. 10:9-10. His offering of His Body which was ‘like sinful flesh’, but wasn’t, purged or removed my awareness of the law. His will is now in me. Love is me and in me now. Love fulfills and supersedes the law. It is not against the law to love with God’s love. Who I was, died with Christ on the cross. My defiled conscience died with Him. I am a new creation in Him, the old has gone! This means I am not aware in my conscience of judgment ever, all the time!

No wonder Paul says in 1 Cor. 4:3, “I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.” Why?

Perhaps, his conscience was unaware of the judgment or penalty of the law by grace and the faith of God’s Son.

I was reading Rom. 2:14-15 the other day and a crazy thought popped in my brain after reading.

If we “sin” in our dreams then do the same types of thoughts condemn us if we are awake?

I believe the Holy Spirit was ministering this Word to me again from another facet.

The answer is “no” if my conscience is purged.

Oh, so you’re saying, “I can think any thoughts I want to and I won’t be condemned.” My answer to those is if you really understand what I am writing then you wouldn’t waste selfish thoughts based on fear and not love. This is what Jude preached against, “Turning the grace of God into lasciviousness.” The grace of the Lord teaches me to say “no” to ungodliness and live in newness of life, Titus 2:11-12, Rom. 6:1-23.

The brother or sister who ministers “greasy grace” is like the Loadicean church. Lukewarm. “Greasy grace” is not true grace. It too is “another gospel” that does not minister life or godliness. Greasy grace doctrine is a selfish doctrine about ‘me.’

Also, Paul says, “Use not your liberty as an occasion to the flesh.” In doing so, you will reap corruption, God is not mocked. You will be miserable because only Christ gives life.

I am speaking of Hope to those who worship the Father in Spirit and in truth.

I am speaking of Hope to he or she who is thirsty. Rev. 21:6 (NIV).

I am speaking of forgiveness, redemption, power and life in Christ by His finished work.

In regard to the activity in the spirit of the mind, I am reminded of this scripture.

2 Cor. 10:5, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

The “taking captive of every thought” is not possible in the flesh. That is ridiculous. As His love diffuses my person, by the revelation of Him, the knowledge and awareness of Him, consumes, apprehends, and passively arrests me. In this maturation process, every thought is being taken captive passively through osmotic revelation and truth by grace. By grace, His will, not my works, supernaturally sprouts in me desiring not think the way I used to because I sincerely don’t want to. This compelling desire of not wanting to is not me. It is Christ, the Last Adam, in me.

He keeps me

Print This Post Print This Post

1 Pet. 1:5, ” Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

“Keep” means to guard, protect by a military guard, either to prevent hostile invasion, or to keep the inhabitants of a besieged city from flight.

Phil. 4:7 says Christ’s peace keeps my heart and mind in Him.

* HE KEEPS ME. I don’t keep myself. I am kept by Him. Christ and His peace (He IS peace) keeps me!

What does this imply? Rest (Heb. 4:9) from me trying to keep myself anymore which is a dead (Heb. 6:1, 9:14), tiresome, self-maintaining work of the flesh and not the Spirit by grace and faith. This power of God passively KEEPS US. Christ and His beautiful finished work on His cross motivated by the love and will of the Father (John 3:16) is the power that keeps us. This same power will reconcile all things unto Himself in one as Ephesians and Hebrews declares.

This same power is in us and keeps us if we fall, stumble, miss it, don’t think we’re good enough, miss a tithe, miss a Sunday service, loose our temper, and the like. There is limitless grace unto righteousness by His faith in us unto holiness and godliness to grow in these areas as well. In spite of our shortcomings and failures, the point is He keeps us by His enabling power through His faith that comes by hearing and hearing His word.

If He keeps me then He is not leaving me either. I am eternally kept under a New everlasting, eternal Covenant with Christ the Testator (Heb. 9:16-17) and High Priest (Heb. 3:1).

If He keeps me then I am not fearful of abandonment, loneliness, or an overwhelming sense of self-keeping because He keeps me by His enabling power and ability not mine.

I am kept, guarded, and protected from my old nature because He nailed it to this cross. That nature is dead in Him and powerless, Rom. 6:6-7, 7:24-25, Gal. 2:20, Col. 1:20, 2:14.

He is peace, Eph. 2:14. This powerful peace keeps me from the ‘hostile invasion’ of the judgment or penalty of the law.

What is an umpire?

Print This Post Print This Post

Col. 3:15, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,”

One of the vocations of peace in us is to be an ‘umpire’. It will always make the first and last call in our hearts and minds. In the Greek, the word rule is present tense. To me, this can mean several things. One is, it is always there. Eph. 2:14 states Christ is our peace. He does not only give peace, but He IS peace. In Him, there is an ever-present peace from the guilt and punishment of the law so that we serve in a new way of the spirit, Rom. 7:6 (NIV).

The word rule is also in active voice. So, this peace is habitually working in the believer non-stop. By grace, peace is naturally bearing itself through His faith in us. This suggests we don’t make ourself peaceful by balancing on one leg, but peace itself or rather Himself enables us to bear peace.

Rule is also in imperative mood. I believe Paul is saying this is the only way to have true, sincere peace. Imperative mood also means a command that is given. If this is taken legally and not under grace, then the motive is put on the ‘recipient of peace’ and they could feel compelled to act out or conjure up peace which is a dead work. In actuality, if I try to conjure something, I am trying to affect or influence something by invocation or spell. 1 Sam. 15:23 says, “Rebellion is as witchcraft and stubbornness as the iniquity of idolatry.” In my ignorance or bad doctrine, if I am rebelling against grace because a doctrine or teaching says I need to create peace on my own aside from Christ’s enabling power and ability then this could lead into either idolatry or witchcraft. I know I’m a heretic now. What else is new? The motive should be by grace not works. We are imperatively under grace and not law.

Lastly, peace is always in present tense as well because it is a fruit of the Spirit. It is a fruit of God. God resides in eternity which is always present tense or Now! So, peace is also Now. If we are truly citizens from heaven, Eph. 2:12, Phil. 3:20, then the fruit we bear in Him by nature is heavenly. Our nature in Him, is Now. He is Now. He is Now in me and you if He is in your heart. In Christ, there is no fear in Now. Christ exists Now. One billion years ago He is Now. Don’t know how else to say it? Galatians 5:23 says there is no law against the fruit of the Spirit. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. So, if I am ever-bearing fruit Now then there is no law against such things. Perfect love casteth our fear and torment, 1 John 4:18. Fear cannot co-exist with peace.

Peace not piece

The Greek word for peace is eirene from the verb eiro. Eiro means “to bind or join together what is broken or divided.” The Hebrew word for peace is shalom. “Shalom comes from the root verb Shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew, the related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.”

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit that is borne by faith through grace, Galatians 5:22.

Lately in my walk, I have been growing in the understanding and knowledge of this “peace.” Christ is my peace. His is peace.

John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Ephesians 2:14-15, “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;”

This “new man” that Christ has created by resurrecting from the dead dwells in me. This “new man” did not exist prior to knowing Christ. By His faith through grace, this new man was created again in me, Galatians 4:19.

Recently, when I have gone to bed, or am in the elevator, or at my desk at work I encounter a resonating cognizance of another me in me, but it is me. Yep, I know, I’m starting to sound crazy. That’s what I was thinking until I searched the Word and found Ephesians 3:16, “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” I have come to realize, understand and am starting to grasp that there is an inner man who has been resurrected in me. I am persuaded the Lord allowed me to see this by grace. Ephesians 2:1 says we are “quickened.” This inner man was dead, but now is made alive in Him. If he is dead then what is there to be aware of? This is my personal experience and everyone is different. I wasn’t taking any medication or tired. To be honest, I usually was thinking about the Word. So, the next question may be, “If I think about the Word this will happen to me?” It could, but the motive is His motive and that is when it happens. I did not conjure this, but it was by His will and grace, Hebrews 2:4.

Back to peace. So, in this “new man” I have peace. Christ IS peace in me. I have His peace from the guilt, power, and penalty of sin. My inner man is new. The word “new” in the Greek means novel, never been done before, fresh, of a new kind, unprecedented, uncommon, and unheard of. This “new man” in me is all of these and more. It is Christ or God in me and me in Him.

Ephesians 3:19, “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 4:13, “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:”

Colossians 1:19, “For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fullness dwell;”

Colossians 2:9, “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”

Since I have right-standing with God by faith I have peace.

Romans 5:1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

The faith doesn’t hinge on me, but on hearing and hearing the Word of God. The ability to hear and motive to hear doesn’t hinge on me, but His grace, Ephesians 2:8.

My mind is at peace and is guarded along with my heart by His peace.

Romans 8:6, “For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.”

Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

I am not writing this just to quote the bible either. What I am saying is, “That my mind and heart is really at peace!” Don’t know how else to say it? Christ is very real and what He offers and gives is very real. It is more real than the air I breathe. If it wasn’t real in my life then I wouldn’t waste my time writing this stuff. This is so real to me that I can’t help but write it. Sometimes, explosions of light, truth, faith and revelation permeate inside me and I have to share. I have to because I want Paul said, “The love of God compels us.” I write or share only if the Lord leads me to do so. Christ is not going to push Himself on someone and demand their soul. There is no room for a free-will in that scenario. He says, “Come, you who are thirsty and drink.” Come because you want to not because someone told you to. According to the good pleasure of God’s will, we are His children by the Spirit of adoption and not slaves, Ephesians 1:5. A child has a choice. In Christ, we serve Him according to His will in us because we choose to do so according to faith by grace.

In Him, I am no longer fearful of the judgment of the law, other peoples’ judgment, or any self-judgment.

1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.”
